KFC May Soon Launch Its Very Own Smartphone In China

Soon the global Chicken chain KFC will turn 30 in China and in order to celebrate their 30th anniversary, KFC is planning something very unique. The famous food chain is planning to launch its very own special edition smartphone in the country. Yes, you read that, the special edition phone will come with a shiny, fiery red casing and there will be a Colonel Sanders logo at the back.

Kentucky Fried Chicken was founded by Colonel Harland Sanders in 1952 and now, it is the world’s second-largest restaurant chain only after McDonald’s. The fast food company will launch the much-awaited smartphone in association with the Chinese electronics giant Huawei.

Both KFC and Huawei announced the smartphone at an event held in China. Although there’s no news about the price of the smartphone, but according to the sources, only 5000 units of the special edition KFC Huawei 7 Plus will be available for sale. Users will be able to purchase the smartphone on brand’s official mobile app and also, from their e-shop on Alibaba’s TMall platform.

Ogilvy & Mather, Shanghai is working on the brand’s 30th-anniversary campaign. The limited edition smartphone will have the KFC’s app pre-installed on it, in addition, there will be a new music feature which will let you play songs on the speakers at any of their restaurant in China. Cool, isn’t it?
