Ithaa, meaning ‘Mother-of-Pearl’ in Dhivehi, an undersea restaurant located 5 metres (16 ft) below sea level at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island in Alif Dhaal Atoll. Describing itself as the world’s first underwater restaurant, was opened in April 2015.
Ithaa
It doesn’t looks like a happening place when you look at it from outside, but wait till you go inside and see this:
Isn’t it beautiful? But wait till you see all that it has to offer.
Scuba divers clean the outside of the restaurant just before each meal and debris accumulates quickly afterwards.
Lunch/Dinner here is quite an expensive affair, so be ready to empty your pocket as it will cost you more than 300$/20K INR per person.
It is also a favorite place to hangout for these Sting Rays. If you are going in there, be ready with your camera because you never know when the perfect moment arrives.
Check out it from the outside.
The bright lights inside and around the restaurant creates an unusual undersea glow at night.
Isn’t it mesmerizing?
And the food here is delicious too.
